Praying Deeper Through the Scriptures - Try a Month for Free!

One of the most powerful things we are able to do for the ones we love is to pray for them. Some of us are seasoned prayer warriors, but some of us struggle with praying - what do we pray? How do we pray? Whether you - or someone on your gift list - is a seasoned prayer warrior or someone who struggles with prayer,   Praying Deeper Through the Scriptures is a book which will be used every day to guide whoever uses it through praying Scriptures for their own walk with God and for the walks of those they love.

Today I am happy to share with you one month of Praying Deeper Through the Scriptures to help you see what it is like -

Month Eight – Nothing is Able to Separate us from God - Read – Romans 8:33-39

Thoughts Behind the Passage –

When a loved child and/or grandchild turns away from the faith they once had along with feeling surprised, even shocked, we will most certainly experience a difficult and painful time in the months and even years which follow. Certainly we want the ones we love to walk with God throughout their lives, but when they turn away we may question many things, including what does this mean for their eternity? While sadness is sure to be part of what we experience, we are also able to take this time as an opportunity to increase our thankfulness to God for the truth of how it is He who justifies, and nothing will separate us from His love!

Pay attention to –

·         Who are these verses talking about?

·         What does God say He will do?

·         How do these verses help me know God better?

·         How do these verses encourage me?

·         How do they influence my prayers this month?

Prayer  -

Dear God, thank You for Your amazing love for us! Thank You for telling us, so we are able to know for sure, how no one is able to condemn someone You have forgiven, because Jesus is always interceding for us! Thank you for Your promise nothing is able to separate me or the ones I love from Your unending love for us. As I go through this day, please help me remember the power and strength of Your love – especially when I feel sadness over how my children/ grandchildren have turned away from You. Please help me know and hold tightly to the truth of how You are the One who gives Your love and forgiveness to all who ask, and no one is able to take Your love away. Please help the ones I love experience and see Your amazing love for them today. Thank You so much for Your love, forgiveness, and promise to always love me and the ones I love. Amen!

Focus for Week One –

This month as you think and pray about God’s amazing gift of forgiveness and love, take time to thank Him for His promise of how nothing, and no one, are able to separate you, or the ones you love, from His love. Focus upon making the choice to believe and find your comfort and hope in His promise; this matters for your own walk with God and for you to be able to model trust in God to the ones you love. As you pray through Romans 8:33-39 this week, keep in mind . . .

·         These verses also show us God’s love is secure – when we have turned to Him for His grace and love, He gives it and does not take it back.

·         What will it look like for you to rest in the security of God’s love for you this week? What specific things will you continue to do and what specific things will you begin to do? Is there anything you will stop doing?

·         We are also able to see God’s powerful love in these verses – it does not end – we are not able to be separated from it – not ever.

·         Consider writing this truth on a sticky note and put it where you will see it – the bathroom mirror, your computer screen, your coffee maker, etc.

·         As you experience blessings and challenges this week, look for how God shows His strong love to you – write these things down each time and when possible, share with the ones you love.

Focus for Week Two –

Be sure to pray for the ones you love who are walking with God as well as those who are not – pray for them all to understand how certain God’s love is for them. As you pray through Romans 8:33-39 this week, keep in mind . . .

·         Understand God’s love is not dependent on us – it has been given by Him and He chose to make it secure.

·         Know with certainty God is committed to securely loving the ones we love.

·         Consider writing this truth on a sticky note and put it where you will see it – the bathroom mirror, your computer screen, your coffee maker, etc.

·         Watch for signs of God’s love in the lives of the ones you love.

·         As you experience blessings and challenges this week, look for how God shows His amazing love to the ones you love – write it down each time and when possible, share with the ones you love.

Focus for Week Three –

The question at the start of these verses asks who is able to bring a charge against someone God chose/loves – the answer is given – no one! Focus your prayers on the ones you love who are not walking with God. While you do this, take time to be encouraged – knowing God’s love for them is certain, no matter what. This week as you pray, think about this and as you pray through Romans 8:33-39, keep in mind . . .

·         How does it make you feel to know God says no one is able to bring a charge against the ones He chose/ loves? If the ones you love have turned to God for His grace and forgiveness, then they are His and God says NOTHING will separate them from His love!

·         How does it change the way you interact with them to know no one may bring charges against them and nothing will separate them from God’s love?

·         Consider writing a reminder to trust God and take Him at His Word on a sticky note and put it where you will see it – the bathroom mirror, your computer screen, your coffee maker, etc.

·         As you experience blessings and challenges this week, look for how the ones you love might be experiencing God’s love for them – write it down each time and when possible, share with the ones you love.

Focus for Week Four –

When I think about children and grandchildren, I especially am encouraged and hopeful to read how God has promised the love He gives them is secure and no one or nothing is able to cause His love for them to end. As you pray through Romans 8:33-39 this week, keep in mind . . .

·         There is nothing the ones you love will ever say or do to make your love for them end. God loves them even more than do we!

·         A day is coming when the ones you love will see God’s love for them is secure and certain.

·         A day is coming when the ones you love will choose to once again love and follow God – hold to this, make this day a matter of prayer, and trust God to continue to love them securely.

·         Consider writing this truth on a sticky note and put it where you will see it – the bathroom mirror, your computer screen, your coffee maker, etc.

·         As you experience blessings and challenges this week, look for how God shows His love is certain for the ones you love and watch for how they begin to see this and respond – write it down each time and when possible, share with the ones you love.
